School Adoption Programme Guidelines

To bring a healthy change in the education system of Bodoland Territorial Region.
2. Vission
Vision of School Adoption Program is to convert backward rural and urban Government schools into Model schools so that they are at par with the best run city schools in terms of infrastructure and performance.
3. Objective
To provide an ideal environment that encourages holistic development through infrastructural and personnel support, quality education which allows each child to bloom to their fullest potential and mainly to complement what the Government is already doing.
Why should we adopt schools?
Education plays an important role in determining the quality of life and productive factors. However, Systematic factors like lack of teachers, non- availability of teachers in remote rural areas, high teacher absenteeism, large scale teacher vacancies, inadequate school infrastructure and adequate allocation of resources on education to meet the expenditure, irregular classes, overcrowded classrooms and traditional methods of routine learning have diminished the quality of teaching and reduced interest among the students for education and have resulted in poor performancewhich is reflected in the children's grade cards. Therefore, there is a great need to bridge these gaps in order to achieve 100% literacy and 0% dropouts. Its not the responsibility of Government alone to do so. It's the joint responsibility of Government and the citizens to improve the situation. The situation of Bodoland Territorial Region demands for a huge public private partnership. Philanthropists, NGOs, Universities, Politicians, Bureaucrats and Corporate etc. should come forward and adopt the schools to bridge the gaps that are mentioned and convert them to model schools to achieve the mission and vision.
